Unfortunately I couldn't get a video without subtitles because the BBC film network had copy right.
Pocket is a short film by James Pilkington, I love the style of this film it's unique to anything I've seen, He starts the film off in an old fashioned style of depicting 80's with the use of clothing and gender attitude this is the beginning of what looks like a nitty gritty film, Just the same way as Shane Meadows began "This is England". However we soon realise it is far from anything Shane Meadows does, the film is set in Nitty Gritty style but the added advantage of comedy, a ridiculous story that makes you smile in a setting where someone should be getting beaten up?
The story is set out almost as comic strip, and is like many Hollywood films that use silly situations in real life settings. There are a lot freeze frames and stop frame animation in the film this doesn't normally happen in a drama short film. I chose James Pilkington because he's different, he made me think about what I was watching.
